1. Introduction
Welcome to gilbertsvillemandir.org, the official website of Shri Hindu Mandir, Gilbertsville ("the Temple," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing this website or making a donation, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or make a donation.
2. Donation Policy
2.1 Purpose of Donations. All donations received through this website are used exclusively for the planning, design, construction, consecration, and ongoing operations of Shri Hindu Mandir, Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania.
2.2 No Refund Policy. All donations are final and non-refundable. Once a donation is submitted and processed, it cannot be reversed, cancelled, or refunded. By completing your donation, you acknowledge and accept this policy.
2.3 Minimum Donation. The minimum accepted donation is $1.00 USD. We accept one-time and recurring monthly donations.
2.4 Recurring Donations. If you elect a monthly recurring donation, your credit or debit card will be charged on the same date each month. You may cancel recurring donations at any time by contacting us at donations@gilbertsvillemandir.org or by logging into your Stripe customer portal. Cancellation stops future charges but does not refund prior charges.
2.5 Donation Receipts. An email receipt will be sent to the address provided at the time of donation. It is your responsibility to provide a valid email address.
3. Tax-Exempt Status
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Shri Hindu Mandir, Gilbertsville is currently in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) federal tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). At this time, we cannot guarantee that your donation is tax-deductible.
Once 501(c)(3) status is granted, donations may become retroactively deductible subject to IRS rules. Donors who wish to claim a deduction should consult a qualified tax professional.
Receipts issued now will state the amount and date of donation. No goods or services were provided in exchange for your contribution.
4. Payment Processing
All payment transactions are processed by Stripe, Inc., a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment processor. Your card details are encrypted and transmitted directly to Stripe. Shri Hindu Mandir does not store your full card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment information on our servers.
By making a donation, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
5. Donor Wall
If you choose to appear on the public Donor Wall, your name (or "Anonymous Devotee" if selected), donation amount, and message may be displayed on the website. By opting in, you grant Shri Hindu Mandir the right to display this information. You may request removal at any time by contacting us.
6. Use of Funds
The Temple committee is committed to using all donated funds for temple-related purposes. A general breakdown of intended fund usage:
The $10,000,000 goal is structured across four phases:
- Phase 1 — $2M (2026–2027): Land acquisition, architectural plans, permits, foundation and site preparation
- Phase 2 — $5M (2028–2029): Full structural construction — walls, shikhara, mandapa, gopura, cultural hall shell, utilities
- Phase 3 — $8M (2030–2032): Master stone carvings by shilpis, interior decoration, deity murtis commissioned, gardens and kund
- Phase 4 — $10M (2033–2035): Deity installation, Prana Pratishtha consecration ceremonies, grand opening Mahotsava
- Administrative and operational costs (limited to 10% of total)
7. Limitation of Liability
Shri Hindu Mandir shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website or your donation. The website is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
