About Us
We are a community of devoted Hindus united by a shared dream — to build a beautiful, traditional mandir that will serve the spiritual needs of Pennsylvania's Hindu community for generations to come.
Our Mission
A Sacred Home in Pennsylvania
Shri Hindu Mandir, Gilbertsville was founded with a singular purpose: to create a permanent, traditional place of Hindu worship in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
The Greater Philadelphia area is home to tens of thousands of Hindu families, yet lacks a full-scale traditional mandir of the grandeur and cultural richness our community deserves.
Our temple will be more than a place of worship — it will be a vibrant cultural center, hosting daily puja, major festivals (Diwali, Holi, Navratri, Janmashtami), Sanskrit education, yoga, and programs for youth and seniors alike.
Our Guiding Principles
Rooted in the eternal wisdom of Sanatana Dharma, these values shape everything we do.
Dharma
Living by righteous principles, upholding the ancient teachings of Sanatana Dharma in modern life.
Seva
Selfless service to the community — within the temple and beyond.
Bhakti
Devotional worship through prayer, ritual, song, and the celebration of Hindu festivals.
Jnana
Promotion of Hindu philosophy, Sanskrit education, and the wisdom of the Vedas and Upanishads.
Sangha
Building a strong, inclusive community that welcomes all Hindus and those drawn to Hindu culture.
Parampara
Honoring the lineage and traditions passed down through generations of devoted teachers and temples.
Why Gilbertsville?
Gilbertsville is located in the heart of Montgomery County — one of the fastest-growing counties in Pennsylvania. The surrounding region (Boyertown, Collegeville, Pottstown, King of Prussia) is home to a large and growing Hindu population with no traditional mandir within reasonable distance.
The site in Gilbertsville offers ample space for a full temple complex: the main mandir, a cultural hall, outdoor festival grounds, parking, and future expansion. Its central location makes it accessible to Hindu families across Montgomery, Chester, Berks, and Bucks counties.
This is not just a building project — it is a spiritual and cultural milestone for the Hindu community of southeastern Pennsylvania.
Temple Committee
Leadership positions will be announced as the committee is formalized.
